New BVC Coil
Most of the talk about the Nautilus Mini is the new coil design by Aspire. This new technology is designed to have the coils last longer and to give a cleaner taste for your e-liquids. It is called the BVC, or Bottom Vertical Coil.
These coils don’t use traditional wicks. The heating coil is wrapped with a ceramic fiber. You can still use the BDC coil from the original Aspire Nautilus if you have those coils kicking around.
The Nautilus Mini comes installed with a 1.8-ohm BVC coil head.
The Aspire Nautilus Mini tank has a capacity of 2 ml, so it should last most people the entire day. This clearomizer is made with stainless steel and pyrex so it can handle e-liquids that may crack a plastic tank. It also makes it easy to tell when it’s time to refill your tank. Aspire also offers an optional stainless steel tank with a smaller recessed glass window if you are worried about breaking the pyrex tank.
The Nautilus Mini includes an improved four hole adjustable airflow system that is very easy to use. This four hole system allows you to adjust the draw and the amount of vapor that’s produced by simply rotating the stainless steel ring. The ring locks in on the desired setting very well, so it shouldn’t move off that setting unless you change it. The sizes available to chose from are: .9mm, 1,1mm, 1.4mm and 1.8mm. The 1.4mm setting is my preferred setting. When set to 1.8mm the Nautilus Mini provides a very good lung hit.
I have used this tank for about a week now and am very pleased with it. The Nautilus Mini provides intense flavor along with great vapor production in a very well made tank. The new coil design handles higher wattage very well. I have used the mini on my Eleaf Istick for the most part and have found 10 watts to be the sweet spot for the e-liquids I’m using. I have been able to push it up to 14 watts without any trouble with burnt tasting hits.
About the only problem, I have had with it is getting the tank apart for refilling. At first, I was snugging it up a little to much and it was very difficult to get apart. Now I just tighten until it firms up and hasn’t had a problem with it leaking, and it’s much easier to unscrew when it’s time to refill. Oh yeah, because of the awesome vapor production it goes through e-juice very quickly 😉
If you are thinking about picking up a new tank you really should consider a Nautilus Mini. It may just be the best tank out there right now.
